Yes, our teeth whitening treatment can actively remove staining from existing dental work and take them back to the original color. Our goal is to clean up the existing dental work and whiten the natural teeth to match for a nice even smile. We however cannot whiten them beyond the original base color of the material used at the time of placement. If your existing dental work is not in your smile line it won’t matter either way because it is not visible.

We recommend not eating for at least 1 hour after the application, so please ensure that you eat prior to your appointment. We also recommend that you only eat soft foods for 12 hours after the gem has been applied, as the adhesives need 24 hours to reach maximum strength. It is also best to avoid highly acidic drinks for 12 hours post treatment.

Yes, you will still be able to undergo a clean! We encourage a routine of good dental hygiene to prevent plaque from building up around the tooth gem. A dentist will easily be able to safely clean around the gem

If all aftercare instructions are followed correctly, the gem will last anywhere between 3-12 months. The natural acidity of your saliva and diet plays a big part on how long an application lasts. If for whatever reason your tooth was to reject the gem, The Smile Bar will re-apply at no extra cost (within 30 days of original application).

Yes absolutely - teeth whitening can be done!

We can effectively whiten teeth with traditional braces on, however the areas under the brackets will not whiten. For this reason, we recommend whitening prior to or post removal of traditional braces.

We can successfully remove years of stains if you currently have Invisalign brackets in place. Our treatment is safe and will not compromise the integrity of any existing dental or ortho work. 
We recommend whitening with Invisalign brackets if you have at least 6+ or more months to go with your braces treatment. If you have less than that time frame, we recommend that you wait until post removal of your braces. As always consult with your ortho if you have any concerns.



*Additionally: A whitening treatment prior to placement of Invisalign or traditional braces is also a great option. 

Cosmetic teeth whitening does not take the place of your regular and routine dental care. Not only is your regular dental cleanings recommend, they are encouraged. Please continue scheduling and maintaining routine care with your dentist a minimum of every 6 months to ensure your teeth, gums and oral cavity are healthy. A healthy mouth provides a better canvas for teeth whitening in general.
