Before Your Appointment
Drink 60-100oz of water
Avoid any at home treatments and switch to a sensitive toothpaste
It is best to avoid anything that could discolor your teeth even more (coffee, tea, soda, red wine, dark fruit juices)
Eat your favorite meal shortly before your appointment, try to eat at least 30 minutes before your appointment
Use mouthwash before your appointment, and try to avoid brushing and flossing before your appointment. The plaque on your teeth will actually help the treatment stick to your teeth!
While you should always clean your teeth thoroughly with a good oral hygiene routine, try to really buckle down on it in the days leading up to your appointment
After Your Appointment
Drink plenty of water to help reduce sensitivity
Wait 2 hours after your appointment to eat
Mild pain relievers are okay to take post treatment to relieve anymore sensitivity
DO NOT use baking soda, or cinnamon toothpaste and brush gums very gently
Stick to colorless foods and drinks for 24 hours
Use a straw when possible to prevent teeth staining
Sensodyne toothpaste is recommended to build enamel
